Having trained as a mechanical engineer, Even Wiger developed his environmental skills as a managing director in the steel industry, tasked with implementing ISO 14001 environmental certification programmes in the sector.
He initially brought these skills motor sport as the Managing Director of WRC Rally Norway, where he helped achieve the highest environmental standards for the event, implementing a number of environmental initiatives to turn it into a completely carbon neutral rally and achieving environmental certification, based on rigorously established standards. Following his work the Rally was selected to join UNEP’s Climate Neutral Network.
He also led the Environment Division of Norwegian ASN Norges Bilsportforbund with responsibility for all environmental, political and strategic initiatives within every branch of motor sport in Norway.
As Sustainability Adviser for the FIA, he is primarily responsible for the Sustainability programme, assisting motorsport stakeholders and developing projects to address environmental challenges.
